Aeromet is a flight training school here in Santiago, Chile. There's two locations for Aeromet. One being in Las Condes, Santiago and the other in La Riena, Santiago. The Las Condes location is the financial Headquarters and La Riena location is where all the planes are kept. I work in the La Riena location doing several things. Three times a week I work solely as a plane dispatcher. I am the guy who is working with the pilots to make sure all the planes leave on time, all proper documentation is turned in, and I refuel the planes as well. When I am not working dispatch I more in an intern type position. I help with organization, managing, and filing all of the students files and reports. Besides that I have also developed some excel sheets to facilitate the process of entering and storing data. The culture of work here is very diverse. I have met several students/pilots who are from Venezuela, Brazil, and Argentina along with the local Chileans. Most of the job is pretty laid back compared to other jobs that I have had. There's constant conversation, laughing, and coffee making. The office I am in has two dedicated coffee makers for everyone to use. But when it's time to get serious, man it gets serious. As if a switch were to be flipped co-workers and students go from laughing to being quiet and focus as they perform a task at hand. Recently the tasks given to me have become quite repetitive, but despite that I am constantly working with amazing people who give me insight into their own culture and their own worlds.
